Square Squared

Rattan Remix is inspired by the traditional wicker weave structure of rattan, which consists of layers of interlocking and overlapping strips of natural fibers. We bring a unique look to traditional rattan by reducing the weave structure to simple geometric shapes, lending itself harmoniously to the clean cuts of laser-cut metal.

Ovals and squares are contained in vertical bars of varying thickness; the ovals differ in size to create depth. We consider the parallel lines characteristic of the Wiener Werkstätte.
